Hydrogen Atmosphere Admission System The Blue M 59013 Atmosphere Admission System is designed for use with the Blue M retort furnace systems. The 59013 automatic atmosphere control system provides dependable, operational convenience and consistent processing with Blue M’s combustible atmosphere retorts. Features / Benefits The Model 59013 is designed to provide semi-automated control of hydrogen process gas and nitrogen purge gas. The system, which incorporates an atmosphere burnoff assembly, can be used with a Blue M atmosphere retort, process tube or other atmosphere tight enclosure. Customer supplied piping is necessary between the gas supply, the 59013 atmosphere control system, the retort and the burnoff assembly.Nitrogen gas is used to purge the system before introducing hydrogen. The timed purge period, both at the beginning and end of the hydrogen process cycle, may be varied from 2- 10 minutes. Sequential pushbuttons and indicating lights are used to activate and monitor the process steps. Hydrogen and nitrogen flow rates are controlled by two direct reading, adjustable, flowmeters. An initial nitrogen purge begins immediately after the nitrogen supply line is opened. A single lighted pushbutton will illuminate when the nitrogen purge is complete and when depressed will start the hydrogen gas flow. An additional lighted pushbutton will stop the hydrogen flow and automatically switch to nitrogen purge. The atmosphere burnoff assembly can be attached either directly or piped to the selected atmosphere tight enclosure. The burnoff assembly is equipped with two ignitor elements (one used as backup) to assure ignition of the effluent hydrogen. Display lights and audible alarms indicate low purge gas pressure, low atmosphere gas pressure, and filament burn-out. In the event of power failure the hydrogen gas flow will shut off and nitrogen purge started. When ordered with a Blue M retort this system will automatically actuate a retort plug lock during hydrogen gas flow and final purge cycle. Plug locks must be ordered for the retort. NOTE: When the Model 59013 is ordered with a Blue M temperature control console, the two systems will be built into a two separate cabinets unless specified otherwise. The temperature control console should be ordered with Option –B Excess Temperature Protection because of the hydrogen application. Options
